Project Description

According to the IADB, the objective of this Technical Cooperation (TC) is to strengthen the Government of Belize's institutional capacity to implement and operationalize its National Digital Infrastructure Plan. The specific objectives are: (i) support the development of implementation mechanisms, strengthen institutional coordination, and enhance the Government's capacity to plan and prepare priority digital infrastructure investments; and (ii) contribute to strengthening Belize's institutional framework for digital infrastructure development and support the sustainable expansion of national digital infrastructure systems.

The Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism (MICI) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) or Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC)-funded project. If you submit a complaint to MICI, they may assist you in addressing the problems you raised through a dispute-resolution process with those implementing the project and/or through an investigation to assess whether the IDB or IIC is following its own policies for preventing or mitigating harm to people or the environment.
