Project Description

According to the IADB, the general objective is to contribute to reducing the burden of chronic non communicable diseases (NCDs) and mental health conditions in Barbados. The specific objectives are:(i) to increase the adoption of healthy behaviors and mental well-being in individuals and communities;(ii) to reorient health care services closer to communities toward prevention, early detection, and continuum of care with a focus on reducing age and disability barriers to women's and men's health;(iii) to align policy and institutional frameworks to support healthy behaviors and mental well-being; and (iv) to sustain public trust and streamlined health information.

The Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism (MICI) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) or Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC)-funded project. If you submit a complaint to MICI, they may assist you in addressing the problems you raised through a dispute-resolution process with those implementing the project and/or through an investigation to assess whether the IDB or IIC is following its own policies for preventing or mitigating harm to people or the environment.
