Project Description

According to the IADB, the objective is to improve agricultural productivity and rural household incomes in Argentina in an inclusive and climate-resilient manner. The general development objective of the CCLIP is to increase the agricultural productivity and incomes of rural households in Argentina, in an inclusive, climate-resilient manner. The specific objectives are to: (i) reduce the logistics costs of agricultural production in the intervention areas; (ii) increase the adoption of sustainable agricultural technologies and practices, and strengthen the productive, financial, and commercial inclusion of small producers; and (iii) enhance the capacity of productive systems and producers to manage and respond to climate risks. The general development objective of the first operation under the CCLIP is to increase agricultural productivity in Río Negro Province. The specific development objectives for the first operation are to: (i) increase efficiency in the use of water resources for agricultural production; (ii) improve access to sustainable electricity for agricultural production; and (iii) strengthen institutional capacity and the capacity of agricultural and livestock producers to manage and respond to climate risks
