Project Description

According to the Bank’s website, the objective of this project is to enhance access to, and quality of, secondary education.

The grant agreement in the amount of $2.7 million from the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) will provide additional financing for Atoll Education Development Project (AEDP). 

The AEDP, approved by the World Bank’s Board in September 2022, is helping Maldives improve its education system by improving teacher effectiveness and student learning outcomes at the secondary level. It places special focus on mathematics, science and English language, and on improving education outcomes in the outer atolls.
