According to the information disclosed on the project disclosure page, the IFC's PPP Transaction Advisory Services Unit will assist the Ministry of Economy in implementing a PPP transaction for the development of a greenfield desalination plant. The PPP contract will include the design, financing, construction and operations of a desalination plant with a proposed 274 MLD capacity. IFC will engage post bid submission to provide strategic advisory services (i.e. advisor of advisors) to the Government: the scope of work includes providing support to (i) revise and finalize the transaction documentation, (ii) the evaluation of bids and conclusion of a competitive and transparent tender process, until the (iii) selection of a specialized partner and (iv) signature of the contracts for the development of the project.
According to the IFC, the estimated total budget of the advisory services was pending at the time of disclosure.
