Project Description

According to bank provided information, the proposed IFC investment is an up to US$60 million senior loan to Hebei Huatong Wires and Cables Group Co., Ltd. (Huatong Group or the Company) and its subsidiaries, HT International Trading Services PTE. LTD. (Huatong Singapore), Everwell Cable and Engineering Company Ltd. (Everwell Tanzania) and Everwell Cameroon Cables and Engineering.SA (Everwell Cameroon), to expand its manufacturing capacity in electric cables in Cameroon, and Tanzania. The project scope includes i) expand Huatong Group’s existing copper and aluminium cable production capacity in Tanzania; and ii) meet the working capital needs of its Cameroon plant (the Project).
