As stated by the IFC, the proposed investment is an A loan of up to US$10 million to support Ferme Jambo in Southern DRC in expanding into irrigated wheat cultivation and milling. The Project will be executed over two phases from 2023-27. Phase 1 (2023-25): investment consisting of (i) farm machinery and irrigation equipment for 1.5 k ha and 4 ton/ hour wheat flour milling line). Phase 2 (2026-27) has assets like Phase 1, financed by US$10 million. Phase 2 commitment will be contingent on the satisfactory completion of Phase 1.
As stated by the IFC, Ferme Jambo is part of Group Jambo, founded in 2004 in Lubumbashi. It is ultimately owned 50-50 by Rajesh Fatania and Arun Datwani. Rajesh Fatania has served as the Managing Director. He has lived in the DRC for the last 20 years.
