Project Description

The proposed investment entails an up to US$45 million A loan to Industrial Pesquera Santa Priscila S.A. (“Santa Priscila” or the “Company”), a shrimp exporter in Ecuador. The proceeds will be used to (i) finance the acquisition of the California farm which entails 1,300 hectares of shrimp farms in the area of Naranjal close to Guayaquil; and (ii) connect this farm to the electrical grid, eliminating the use of diesel power generators in the pumping and automated aeration and feeding systems (the “Project”). The Company expects to decrease Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions while improving productivity levels in its shrimp ponds due to enhanced stability and quality of the oxygenation.
