Project Description

According to the Bank's website, this project consistes of a senior financing package of up to US$35 million to support the bank's lending activities to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Jamaica. 

This project has been defined as FI-2 in terms of its Environmental Category.

Financial Intermediary
A financial intermediary is a bank or financial institution that receives funds from a development bank. A financial intermediary then lends these funds to their clients (private actors) in the form of loans, bonds, guarantees and equity shares. Financial intermediaries include insurance, pension and equity funds. The direct financial relationship is between the development bank and the financial intermediary.
