IFC is considering a US$ 120 million loan to the City of Bogota (the “City”) to finance the Caracas Sur busway expansion (Project id. 38347). More specifically, IFC’s resources will be used to specifically finance the first section (3.5 km) of the Caracas Sur busway, from Molinos Station to Portal Usme, and includes the remodeling of the Molinos Station and the construction of the Danubio Station. This project is part of a larger engagement with the City to support the development of the transport system that would include also a US$ 30 million loan for the financing of the construction of Transmicable (Project id. 39772), a 3.4 km aerial cableway that connects Ciudad Bolivar to the Transmilenio Trunk System.
ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF IFC
The Compliance Advisor Ombudsman (CAO) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who believe they are likely to be, or have been, adversely affected by an IFC or MIGA- financed project. If you submit a complaint to the CAO, they may assist you in resolving a dispute with the company and/or investigate to assess whether the IFC is following its own policies and procedures for preventing harm to people or the environment. If you want to submit a complaint electronically, you can email the CAO at CAO@worldbankgroup.org. You can learn more about the CAO and how to file a complaint at http://www.cao-ombudsman.org/
