According to the IDBI, the proposed investment consists of a short-term revolving credit facility of up to US$700 million for POSCO Argentina S.A.U. The facility will include a Tranche A of up to US$250 million from IDB Invest and a Tranche B of up to US$450 million from commercial banks. This investment will support the development, start-up, and gradual ramp-up of production at Sal de Oro project, located in the Salar del Hombre Muerto, in the provinces of Salta and Catamarca, Argentina.
The initiative includes a plant with an estimated capacity of up to 25,000 tons per year of lithium hydroxide and another with an estimated capacity of up to 23,000 tons per year of lithium carbonate.
