According to project documents, the general objective of the proposal is to support water and sanitation regulatory agencies which were not included in the first phase (RG-T3511). The first phase, co-financed by the Portuguese government, included 5 regulators. This second phase will support the implementation of best practices and strengthening activities to additional regulators.
The specific objectives of the proposal is to: (i) conduct training workshops for the water and sanitation regulators on tariffs, human resources, information management, performance indicators and best practices; (ii) develop tool kits to be used by regulators in their day to day activities; (iii) establish a regulation platform that will be fed with information from all regulators collected during phase 1 and 2. Regulators from other regions of the world will also be able to join the platform; and (iv) Publication of materials using the data collected and training conducted.

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF IADB
The Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism (MICI) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) or Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC)-funded project. If you submit a complaint to MICI, they may assist you in addressing the problems you raised through a dispute-resolution process with those implementing the project and/or through an investigation to assess whether the IDB or IIC is following its own policies for preventing or mitigating harm to people or the environment. You can submit a complaint by sending an email to MICI@iadb.org. You can learn more about the MICI and how to file a complaint at http://www.iadb.org/en/mici/mici,1752.html (in English) or http://www.iadb.org/es/mici/mici,1752.html (Spanish).
