As stated by the IADB, the objective of the project is to help small producers to combat and overcome their vulnerability to the effects of climate change to which their economic activity is exposed and to adopt the aforementioned production models.
The IADB categorized the project risk as FI-2. According to the bank's classification system, it means that the FI’s portfolio consists of business activities that have potential limited adverse environmental or social risks or impacts.
As stated on the organization's website, the Foundation for Rural Business Development (FUNDER) is a private Honduran institution, with legal personality and its own assets, apolitical, non-profit that promotes participatory business development processes rural, through training and technical assistance services in organization, production, processing, marketing, financing and strengthening of business units of small and medium-sized producers. It was created in 1997 based on the experience of the PROCORAC project financed by the Government of the Netherlands and trade union organizations linked to rural areas.

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF IADB
The Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism (MICI) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) or Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC)-funded project. If you submit a complaint to MICI, they may assist you in addressing the problems you raised through a dispute-resolution process with those implementing the project and/or through an investigation to assess whether the IDB or IIC is following its own policies for preventing or mitigating harm to people or the environment.
