Project Description

According to the IADB, the objective of this TC is to support the efforts of key institutions within the security and justice system in managing and implementing policy reforms aimed at modernizing the prison system and strengthening public safety in light of the new security challenges and organized crime dynamics facing the country. Specifically, this TC will enable the conduct of studies, assessments, and process and impact evaluations necessary to: (i) contribute to improving the effectiveness of prison management and strengthening the institutional capacity of the prison service; and (ii) contribute to strengthening the social reintegration skills of persons deprived of liberty. Similarly, this TC will support loans CH-L1142 (Program to Strengthen the Strategic Management of Public Security in Chile), aimed at reducing violent robberies and strengthening the management of cybercrimes and incidents, and CH-L1189 (Institutional Strengthening Program for Public Security and Penitentiary Services in Chile), which aims to strengthen the State's capacity to improve public security management and the effectiveness of criminal prosecution.
