To promote the development of the green hydrogen industry in Chile.
As stated by the IADB, GH2 production projects may result in moderate socioenvironmental risks and impacts for which effective mitigation measures are known, equivalent to Category B, including resettlement of a small number of people, nonsignificant impacts on natural habitats and ecosystem services, principally water supply, and moderate risks to worker and community safety, principally from explosions due to GH2 flammability.
The implementing agency will be the Corporación de Fomento de la Producción [Production Development Corporation]. As stated by DevelopmentAid, Production Development Corporation (CORFO) (full name in Spanish: Corporación de Fomento de la Producción de Chile) is a Chilean governmental organization that was founded in 1939, by President Pedro Aguirre Cerda, to promote economic growth in Chile.
CORFO is a public-sector organization dedicated to promoting entrepreneurship, innovation and growth in Chile, using tools and instruments compatible with the central framework of a social market economy, creating the conditions necessary to build a society of opportunity.
ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF IADB
The Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism (MICI) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) or Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC)-funded project. If you submit a complaint to MICI, they may assist you in addressing the problems you raised through a dispute-resolution process with those implementing the project and/or through an investigation to assess whether the IDB or IIC is following its own policies for preventing or mitigating harm to people or the environment. You can submit a complaint by sending an email to MICI@iadb.org. You can learn more about the MICI and how to file a complaint at http://www.iadb.org/en/mici/mici,1752.html (in English) or http://www.iadb.org/es/mici/mici,1752.html (Spanish).
