The objective of this operation is to pilot innovative water disinfection technologies in Caye Caulker with the aim of increasing tap water consumption and reducing operational costs for Belize Water Services (BWS) in this touristic small town. The new disinfection technology will de deployed at BWS's water treatment plant in Caye Caulker. The operation will also include the piloting of water disinfection technologies in facilities, such as schools, with no access to piped water networks.
The country's counterpart amount to USD 25,000.
ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF IADB
The Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism (MICI) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) or Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC)-funded project.
