According to the bank document, "the project aims to promote green technologies for industrial wastewater treatment and identify innovative investment options including private sector investment. The aim is to improve the treatment of industrial wastewater and reduce the discharge of pollutants in the Ayeyarawady river basin – by far the most important river in the country.
The partnership with WWF-NL in this project will enable NLB FMO NL Business to create a pipeline of projects in Myanmar for potential Dutch industrial wastewater treatment exporters. NLB will be expected to set up the Greenlines facility (SME financing for green technology) of the FI department of FMO".
