Project Description

According to the Bank’s website, the project concerns the construction of a simulation, training and research centre at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy "Iuliu Hatieganu" (UMFIH) in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

The aim is to provide additional financial resources to extend and improve both teaching and research activities. Therefore, the project meets various needs of the innovation system in Romania, most notably the supply of highly-skilled graduates in key economic and social sectors, as well as the provision of infrastructure for public research.

The project is part of a long term modernisation programme of the University and is in line with EU public policy goals associated with Education and Training 2020 and Horizon 2020. It will also contribute to the European Higher Education Area and the European Research Area by enhancing teaching and learning environments and improving research facilities.

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF EIB

The EIB Complaints Mechanism is designed to facilitate and handle complaints against the EIB by individuals, organizations or corporations affected by EIB activities. When exercising the right to lodge a complaint against the EIB, any member of the public has access to a two-tier procedure, one internal - the Complaints Mechanism Office - and one external - the European Ombudsman. Note that before going to the Ombudsman, an attempt must be made to resolve the case by contacting the EIB. In addition, the complaint must be made within two years of the date when the facts on which your complaint is based became known to you.
