Project Description

According to bank provided information, the proposed transaction is a multi-beneficiary intermediated loan to Atlantic Business International SA, which will be deployed through its banking subsidiaries in Member States of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA), for on-lending to Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) and Intermediate Size Enterprises (ETI), with a focus on youth employment and gender equality

This operation aims to finance projects carried out by Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and Intermediate Size Enterprises (ETIs), and will target in particular SMEs contributing significantly to youth employment and gender equality in access to finance.

A financial intermediary is a bank or financial institution that receives funds from a development bank. A financial intermediary then lends these funds to their clients (private actors) in the form of loans, bonds, guarantees and equity shares. Financial intermediaries include insurance, pension and equity funds. The direct financial relationship is between the development bank and the financial intermediary.
