According to the Bank’s website, the project consists of a senior unsecured loan of up to EUR15 milion to be provided to Banca Intesa Beograd ("BIB"), under the FIF - Go Digital in the Western Balkans Programme.
The proceeds of the Bank's investment will be used for providing a combination of specialised financing for automation, digitalisation, competitiveness and green technologies to eligible SMEs in accordance with the respective Policy Statement. At least 60% of the total investments shall be in eligible automation and digitalisation projects, of which at least 60% shall be GET eligible. Furthermore, at least 60% of the total investments shall be GET eligible.

The TC funds for the programme, in the amount of €4.48 million are provided by the EU.
Banca Intesa Belgrade ("BIB") is the largest bank in Serbia and is among the leading banks in both corporate and retail banking. As of August 2024, BIB had a market share of 15.4% by total assets, 17.2% by net loans and 16.9% by deposits. BIB has been one of the most profitable banks in Serbia for many years, thanks to economies of scale, good diversification and efficient operations. It has approximately 3,000 employees and a branch network of 141 offices across Serbia.
BIB is 100% owned by Intesa Sanpaolo Holding International S.A ("ISPHI"), which is in turn 100% owned by Intesa Sanpaolo SpA ("ISP"). ISP is among the Top-10 banking groups in Europe and has a primary listing on the stock exchange in Milan. It is rated BBB (Stable) by S&P, BBB (Stable) by Fitch and Baa1 (Stable) by Moody's.

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF EBRD
The Project Complaint Mechanism (PCM) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)-financed project. If you submit a complaint to the PCM, it may assess compliance with EBRD's own policies and procedures to prevent harm to the environment or communities or it may assist you in resolving the problem that led to the complaint through a dialogue with those implementing the project. Additionally, the PCM has the authority to recommend a project be suspended in the event that harm is imminent.
