Project Description

According to the EBRD, the project consists in the provision of a sovereign loan of up to USD 43.2 million to finance the design and construction of a new general hospital with a capacity of about 250 beds and associated infrastructure. The Project is in the city of Darkhan and is being implemented by the Ministry of Health of Mongolia together with the Darkhan-Uul Province.

The Project addresses the needs of the residents of Darkhan and the Darkhan-Uul Province for modern and high quality secondary healthcare facilities and services. It also improves the environmental sustainability of municipal infrastructure by applying higher resource efficiency standards to new hospital buildings being built under the Project.

The Project Complaint Mechanism (PCM) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)-financed project. If you submit a complaint to the PCM, it may assess compliance with EBRD's own policies and procedures to prevent harm to the environment or communities or it may assist you in resolving the problem that led to the complaint through a dialogue with those implementing the project. Additionally, the PCM has the authority to recommend a project be suspended in the event that harm is imminent.
