According to the Bank's website, this project finances rehabilitation and modernisation of two operating wastewater treatment plants.
This project is part of the Green Cities Framework 2.
The EBRD loan is a part of a broader financial package, which includes a € 3 million loan from the Nordic Environment Finance Corporation.
Lviv City Communal Enterprise "Lvivvodokanal", a municipal utility wholly-owned by the City of Lviv, is responsible for the water intake, treatment, supply and distribution as well as for the wastewater collection, treatment and discharge in Lviv. The Company operates 1100 km of water networks, water treatment facilities and 17 water intakes located at the distances of 10 to 105 km from the City. The Company also operates two wastewater treatment plants located at each bank of the Poltva River (the Baltic Sea catchment area).

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF EBRD
The Project Complaint Mechanism (PCM) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)-financed project. If you submit a complaint to the PCM, it may assess compliance with EBRD's own policies and procedures to prevent harm to the environment or communities or it may assist you in resolving the problem that led to the complaint through a dialogue with those implementing the project. Additionally, the PCM has the authority to recommend a project be suspended in the event that harm is imminent.
