This project provides financing for the development of a full-scale integrated solid waste management system in the province of Canakkale. Components include the construction of a mechanical biological treatment plant, procurement of a vehicle fleet, rehabilitation of the existing leachate treatment plant, and related investments in the existing facility.
The EBRD's loan is accompanied by a contribution of US $1.5 million from the Clean Technology Fund.
Suez Canakkale RR Atik Yonetim Hizmetleri A.S., a special purpose company incorporated in Turkey and owned by Sita Cevre (90 per cent) and Altas Yapi Sanayi ve Temizlik Hizmetleri Ticaret A.S (10 per cent).

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF EBRD
The Project Complaint Mechanism (PCM) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)-financed project. If you submit a complaint to the PCM, it may assess compliance with EBRD's own policies and procedures to prevent harm to the environment or communities or it may assist you in resolving the problem that led to the complaint through a dialogue with those implementing the project. Additionally, the PCM has the authority to recommend a project be suspended in the event that harm is imminent.
