According to the EBRD, the project consists of the provision of a senior secured loan increase of up to EUR 3 million to Gebruder Weiss LLC, a company offering logistics and transportation services in Georgia. This financing aims to support the expansion of the Borrower's intermodal logistics terminal located near Tbilisi. Gebruder Weiss LLC is a subsidiary of Gebruder Weiss GmbH, a global transport and logistics firm headquartered in Austria.
The original loan was provided in 2013 of up to EUR 3 million (of which committed EUR 2.75 million) to finance the construction of a greenfield intermodal logistics terminal, addressing the needs for quality logistics services and warehousing infrastructure, modern supply chain management as well as cost-efficient and flexible transport services. The terminal has been operational since 2013.
The objective is to facilitate the development of the logistics intermodal terminal into a hub for the Caucasus region, serving as a strategically significant nexus between the markets of Asia and Europe.
As stated by Bloomberg, Gebrueder Weiss GmbH of Germany provides transportation services. The Company offers land transport, air and sea freight, and logistics solutions. Gebrueder Weiss serves customers in Europe.

The Project Complaint Mechanism (PCM) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)-financed project. If you submit a complaint to the PCM, it may assess compliance with EBRD's own policies and procedures to prevent harm to the environment or communities or it may assist you in resolving the problem that led to the complaint through a dialogue with those implementing the project. Additionally, the PCM has the authority to recommend a project be suspended in the event that harm is imminent.
