As stated by the DFC, the investment consists of project development work that will lead to the construction of Phase II and Phase III of the Chimuara Nacala power transmission line linking the central and northern regions of the Project Country that will increase the reliability of power supply, stimulate industrial demand, enable transmission of renewable power and be a market shaping model for privately financed transmission projects in Africa.

Under the United States Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), DFC is obliged to respond to reasonably formulated requests for Agency records.
