As stated by the DFC, African Infrastructure Investment Fund 4 will make equity investments in infrastructure projects and in companies operating in the infrastructure sector in Africa. Target sectors include logistics, transportation, energy transition, and digital infrastructure.
Substantial demand for greater infrastructure capacity in Africa has created a need for investment in African Infrastructure Investment Fund 4’s target sectors. Africa is a priority region for the USG, and DFC support for African Infrastructure Investment Fund 4 will provide much-needed capital to infrastructure projects that will catalyze economic growth.
The financial intermediary, African Infrastructure Investment Fund 4, is a South African US$-denominated en commandite partnership.
As stated by the DFC, funds with downstream investments that pose high environmental and social risks are screened as Category FI-A for the purposes of environmental and social assessment.
As stated by Bloomberg, African Infrastructure Investment Managers Pty Ltd is an investment firm. The Company invests in infrastructure assets such as toll roads, rail, airports, power generation and renewable energy.

Unlike many other development finance institutions, DFC does not currently have an access to information policy.
Under the United States Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), DFC is obliged to respond to reasonably formulated requests for Agency records. However, DFC may apply exemptions from release to certain types of information and may charge fees in responding to requests.
