Project Description

According to project information, DFC providing money- 850 000 USD  to Mountain Food Products, LLC via Mountain Enterprises International, Inc. Processing local agricultural crops to sell snack products that are currently imported or unavailable in Tajikistan.The Project is expected to have a highly developmental impact through the investment in a local potato chip and snack manufacturer in Tajikistan. The Project will support the local agricultural supply chain by distributing seeds and sourcing potatoes from roughly 600 farmers in Tajikistan.The Project will help Tajikistan achieve UN Sustainable Development Goals #8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) and #12 (Responsible Consumption and Production).

PROJECT OBJECTIVES:

Mountain Food Products, LLC aims to have a positive social impact in the following ways:

  • Poverty Alleviation - Employing Local Workers and Supporting Local GBAO Farmers
  • Health - Producing and Making Available Clean Water
  • High-Tech Knowledge Transfer and Training

MFP is a Tajikistan based company whose headquarters and primary factory are based in Khorog amongst the Pamir mountains and adjacent to the Panj River. Substantial capital and investment have been utilized to produce a state-of-the art facility with world class technology and aiming to utilize best practices.
