According to the CDB, the project will enhance the climate resilience capacity, reduce the fossil fuel-generated electricity for street lighting, and enhance the capacity of the Bahamas Power and Light Company Ltd to implement communications infrastructure.
As stated by Bloomberg, LED Roadway Lighting Ltd. (LRL) designs and manufactures light emitting diode based lighting products. The Company's products include LED based street, roadway, and area lighting fixtures and control systems. LRL markets its products worldwide.
As stated on the company's website, the roots of Bahamas Power and Light Company, Ltd. (BPL) were established in 1956 by the Electricity Act of 1956, which created The Bahamas Electric Company (BEC) as a government-owned public corporation. Today, BPL is the proud successor to BEC, building for a better Bahamas and committed to fulfilling our mandate to provide you with safe, reliable electrical power.
