Project Description

According to the Bank’s website, Baku Metro Digitalization Project will support the digitalization of Baku Metro's operational systems, with a focus on train traffic management and passenger travel information. The outcomes will include improved operational and financial performance of Baku Metro. The project will lay the foundation for public transport-centered mobility in Baku, addressing severe congestion driven by population growth and rising private car use.

Baku Metro Closed Joint-Stock Company (Baku Metro CJSC) is the state-owned entity responsible for operating and constructing the metro system in Baku, Azerbaijan.
