According to the Bank’s website, the proposed technical assistance (TA) cluster will support the preparation of the Asian Development Outlook (ADO) and Asian Development Policy Report (ADPR) through research work at the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
The production of the ADO has been regularly supported by TA since its first publication in 1989. Recognized as one of ADB's flagship knowledge products, the ADO has been designated as a corporate priority for TA support since 2015, ensuring its continued development and alignment with ADB's strategic goals.1
ADO provides views on the macroeconomic prospects for all 46 ADB developing member countries (DMCs) and insights into the macroeconomic issues the region faces. ADPR, an offshoot of the ADO starting in 2024, presents selected topics that analyze longer-term development issues and policy implications for the region. As such, ADO and ADPR provide different content but equally vital intelligence to policymakers in DMCs, ADB management and shareholders, and researchers globally, and underpin ADB operational activities. Both publications showcase ADB's knowledge and expertise about the region.
According to the Technical Assistance Report, the Risk Categories are:
Environment: Not Applicable
Involuntary Resettlement: Not Applicable
Indigenous Peoples: Not Applicable
The TA cluster financing amount is $4,500,000, which will be financed on a grant basis by ADB’s Technical Assistance Special Fund (TASF 8 for $2,250,000 and TASF-other sources for $2,250,000).
