According to the Bank’s website, the proposed cluster Technical Assistance (TA) aims to contribute to improving the effectiveness and efficiency of ADB projects in South Asia and will focus on improving the quality of ADB operations and portfolio management by strengthening the preparation and implementation of ADB financed projects. It will add value through its demand driven, integrated, and innovative approaches to planning, preparation and implementation of projects including initiatives in strategic engagement with Developing Member Countries (DMCs), knowledge sharing, and capacity building. The TA will leverage the dynamic and integrated value chain of ADB operations from programming, project preparation, implementation, and completionwhere lessons cycle back to inform project design and implementation. The TA will focus on three outputs, namely: (a) strengthening of project planning and implementation efficiency; (b) enhancing individual Capacity Development Resource Centers (CDRCs) and establishing the CDRC network; and (c) improving project/portfolio planning and monitoring systems and initiatives through technological/digital solutions.

The TA cluster financing amount is $4,600,000, which will be financed on a grant basis by ADB’s Technical Assistance Special Fund.
