According to the bank website, "the project will rehabilitate and upgrade about 900 kilometers (km) of state highways and major district roads (MDRs) in Chhattisgarh to improve connectivity, livelihood opportunities, and access to basic services for people in remote areas. The physical works will involve upgrading the state highways and MDRs to two-lane width with hard shoulder along built-up areas. For investment in the physical infrastructure to be efficient and sustainable, the project will also strengthen road maintenance through the provision of 5-year performance-based maintenance in each civil works contract and introduce road safety audit at design, construction and operation stages."

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF ADB
The Accountability Mechanism is an independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who believe they are likely to be, or have been, adversely affected by an Asian Development Bank-financed project. If you submit a complaint to the Accountability Mechanism, they may investigate to assess whether the Asian Development Bank is following its own policies and procedures for preventing harm to people or the environment. You can learn more about the Accountability Mechanism and how to file a complaint at: http://www.adb.org/site/accountability-mechanism/main
