According to the Bank’s website, the proposed TA will support the implementation of the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) Regional Health Cooperation Strategy 20242030 across Cambodia, Yunnan Province and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in the People's Republic of China, the Lao People's Democratic Republic, Thailand, and Viet Nam. The impact is a healthy and sustainable GMS community, where the well-being of all citizens is realized. The outcome will be regional health cooperation in the GMS strengthened. The project aims to achieve this through three outputs: (i) the strategic pillars of the GMS Health Cooperation Strategy 20242030 operationalized, (ii) knowledge support for regional health cooperation in the GMS promoted and expanded and (iii) operational support for the GMS Working Group for Health Cooperation (WGHC) and its secretariat strengthened.

The TA financing amount is $3,000,000, of which (i) $1,000,000 will be financed on a grant basis by ADB’s Technical Assistance Special Fund ($500,000 from TASF 7 and $500,000 from TASF-other sources); and (ii) $2,000,000 will be financed on a grant basis by the JFPR and administered by ADB.
