The proposed knowledge and support technical assistance (TA) will address requests from several Pacific country governments seeking to strengthen their information and communication (ICT) capacities. The TA will support (i) advancing ICT policy and regulatory frameworks, (ii) ICT applications development, and (iii) adaptation of technology innovations and protection against cyber-crime. The initiative is a continuation of a similar TA program which successfully and efficiently addressed ICT infrastructure-related challenges for submarine cable projects.
The TA is included in the Pacific 2016-2018 Regional Operations Business Plan (ROBP) which outlines ICT applications for development of ICT-enabled services as key area of assistance. It is also listed in the current ROBP 2017-2019.
Output 1: Information and communication technology policy and regulatory framework supported.
Output 2: Development of information and communication technology applications supported.

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF ADB
The Accountability Mechanism is an independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who believe they are likely to be, or have been, adversely affected by an Asian Development Bank-financed project. If you submit a complaint to the Accountability Mechanism, they may investigate to assess whether the Asian Development Bank is following its own policies and procedures for preventing harm to people or the environment. You can learn more about the Accountability Mechanism and how to file a complaint at: http://www.adb.org/site/accountability-mechanism/main
