According to ADB website, the Western Uzbekistan Water Supply System Development Project will significantly boost the coverage and particularly the quality of water supply services in district centers and in urban and rural settlements thus benefiting a population of no less than 452,000 at project completion, within six districts of the Republic of Karakalpakstan by providing continuous and safe water supply, thereby setting favorable conditions for enhancement of local small to large scale economies, including tourism which is steadily developing in the southern area of the Aral basin.
The project will improve health and living conditions in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (RK), Uzbekistan, by rehabilitating and expanding water supply systems in selected districts of the RK.
