The Government of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam has requested a project preparatory technical assistance (PPTA) from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to conduct due diligence and prepare an investment project Distribution Grid Development Sector Project for Viet Nam Power Corporations.
This is to support the government in the implementation of its Seventh Power Development Plan 2011-2020 (PDP VII) in providing adequate and reliable power supply. The ensuing project (the project) will assist part of the government's investment program in strengthening the power distribution system, managed by the distribution power corporations (PC) of state-owned Vietnam Electricity (EVN).
Technical Assistance Special Fund US$ 1.00 million
The TA is estimated to cost $1,100,000 equivalent, of which $1,000,000 will be financed on a grant basis by the ADB Technical Assistance Special Fund (TASF-V).
The government will provide counterpart support for the TA in the form of counterpart staff, office space, office supplies and internet access, and other in-kind contributions with an estimated value of 10% of the total cost of the TA.
