Project Description

This project provides technical assistance to sustainable urban development efforts in Rajasthan by establishing governance changes. This includes corporatizing state-level management and city-level utilities, promoting public-private partnerships, delegating operations to municipal organizations, rationalizing urban property tax and improving revenue obtained from water and sanitation charges, and developing a long-term urban development policy and a human resource development plan. This project also funds improvements to water supply and wastewater services and establishing monitoring of urban services.
