As stated on the project disclosure page, the FMO is providing a USD 40 million senior secured facility to Sunrise Turkiye. The financing supports the company's working capital requirements and capital expenditure program, including the maintenance and modernization of its processing and port facilities in Corum and Giresun, Turkiye.
The investment supports a globally active leader in the organic agribusiness sector, contributing to more sustainable food systems through certified organic sourcing, processing, and distribution. The transaction is expected to support economic activity and employment in rural regions of Turkiye, while promoting environmentally sustainable agricultural practices through certified organic supply chains.
The FMO categorized the project E&S risk as B+.
As stated by the FMO, Sunrise Foods International Tarim Urunleri Ticaret A.S. is part of Sunrise Foods International Inc., a global trader and processor of certified organic agricultural commodities. The group operates an integrated supply chain spanning sourcing, processing, storage, and international distribution, supplying organic feed and food ingredients primarily to customers in North America and Europe. Sunrise is majority-owned by Tiryaki Agro Gida San. Tic. A.S., a leading Turkiye-based agribusiness group and a longstanding FMO client since 2012.

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF FMO
Communities who believe they will be negatively affected by a project funded by the Dutch Development Bank (FMO) may be able to file a complaint with the Independent Complaints Mechanism, which is the joint independent accountability mechanism of the Dutch Development Bank (FMO) and the German Investment Corporation (KfW). A complaint can be filed in writing, by email, post, or online. The complaint can be filed in English or any other language of the complainant. The Independent Complaints Mechanism is comprised of a three-member Independent Expert Panel and it can provide either problem-solving, compliance review or both, in either order.
