As stated on the project disclosure page, the IFC serves as transaction advisor to the Government of Senegal, through the Conseil Executif des Transports Urbains de Dakar (CETUD), to structure and implement a public-private partnership for the transformation of the Petersen neighborhood into a transit-oriented development. The project will tackle challenges such as limited land availability, rising property prices, and deteriorating public spaces through a PPP model.
This project aims to transform Petersen into a vibrant, energy-efficient, transit-oriented development through new residential and commercial projects, expanded green spaces, and the promotion of soft mobility options such as walking and cycling. The goal is to improve energy efficiency, enhance urban livability, and stimulate economic growth. As the project is still in its early stages, development results indicators have not yet materialized.
At the time of the project disclosure, the estimated total budget was still pending.
