According to the IFC, the bank will provide transaction advisory services to the the Instituto de Caminos y Construcciones de Cundinamarca ("ICCU") and the Fondo de Desarrollo de Proyectos de Cundinamarca ("FONDECÚN") (jointly the "Client"), to structure a road PPP. As lead transaction advisor, IFC will work with the Client to structure the PPP and implement a competitive tender to select a qualified private sector partner that will improve, enhance, rehabilitate, build, operate and maintain the Chia-Mosquera-La Mesa-Girardot brownfield corridor.
The objective of this Project is to support the Client in fostering greater competitiveness in the Cundinamarca region in Colombia. This entails the upgrade of the regional corridor from a first-generation road concession model to a fifth-generation one, the improvement of the Public-Private Partnership ("PPP") contract by leveraging the 4G and 5G road concession program as a model, integrating Environmental and Social ("E&S") (including gender and climate) considerations into the PPP contract, and ultimately structuring one PPP for the Chia-Mosquera-La Mesa-Girardot brownfield corridor.
