As stated on the IFC's website, on May 8, 2023, the International Finance Corporation entered into a Joint Cooperation Agreement with the Abu Dhabi Uzbek Investment Company to foster private sector investments. This partnership aims to drive private sector development in Uzbekistan and facilitate South-South investments, which play a vital role in supporting emerging markets by facilitating the transfer of standards, knowledge, and successful business models. By leveraging the expertise and resources of both organizations, we aim for this collaboration to significantly contribute to the growth and prosperity of Uzbekistan's private sector while further strengthening the economic ties between the two countries.
The aim of the project is to develop a pipeline of investment projects in Uzbekistan through joint business development in various sectors including manufacturing, agribusiness, tourism, retail, property, health, and education.
