According to the Bank’s website, the objective of this program is to partner with the Government of South Africa (GoSA) in reducing the time and procedures of licensing Independent Power Producers in South Africa in order to increase the volume in MW of expected power generation commitments. This will be achieved by partnering with the GoSA to streamline and expedite licensing of IPPs, thereby reducing the time and procedures of approvals and bringing power projects online faster. This streamlined approval process will allow unblocking of stalled generation projects currently locked in red tape. The project will also support the creation of the Energy One Stop Shop, and IT solutions that may be required to facilitate the results that this project aims to achieve.

If you submit a complaint to the CAO, they may assist you in resolving a dispute with the company and/or investigate to assess whether the IFC is following its own policies and procedures for preventing harm to people or the environment. If you want to submit a complaint electronically, you can email the CAO at CAO@worldbankgroup.org You can learn more about the CAO and how to file a complaint at http://www.cao-ombudsman.org
