According to IFC, the proposed project will provide transaction advisory assistance to the PPP Authority and the Chittagong Port Authority in selecting a private sector operator to equip, operate, maintain and transfer Patenga Container Terminal in Chattogram Port. The successful implementation of the Project is expected to result in provision of container terminal services, and mobilization of private sector investment in the transport sector of Bangladesh.
