Project Description

According to the Bank’s website, IFC will support the Government of Malawi to attract private sector participation through a competitive tender process to develop Purpose Built Student Accommodations (PBSA) at three public universities: (i) the University of Malawi in Zomba (UNIMA); (ii) the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences in Blantyre (MUBAS); and (iii) the Malawi University of Science and Technology in Thyolo (MUST). Each university will act as contracting authority and will sign Public-Private Partnership agreement with the competitively procured private partner who will be responsible to design, finance, build, operate and maintain the PBSAs at project sites provided by the universities.
