According to the Bank’s website, this small-scale TA addresses the urgent need to strengthen multisector nutrition interventions to enhance human capital development across developing member countries (DMCs) in Asia and the Pacific. Consultations with ADB staff across sectors and regions revealed strong demand for systematic guidance on nutrition integration, institutional clarity, and capacity building support. A review of 419 ADB projects from 1999 to 2025 identified 142 projects with nutrition-related interventions, yet only three are officially tagged as nutrition projects, indicating significant underreporting, and missed opportunities for nutrition impact. The Independent Evaluation Department's 2024 evaluation on operational priority 5 highlights the limited attention to nutrition and the need to improve the integration of nutrition-specific objectives in country strategies and projects.
The TA financing amount is $100,000, which will be financed on a grant basis by ADB’s Technical Assistance Special Fund.

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF ADB
The Accountability Mechanism is an independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who believe they are likely to be, or have been, adversely affected by an Asian Development Bank-financed project. If you submit a complaint to the Accountability Mechanism, they may investigate to assess whether the Asian Development Bank is following its own policies and procedures for preventing harm to people or the environment.
