According to the Technical Assistance Report, the TA will strengthen the capacity of developing member countries (DMCs) for regional cooperation in managing water resources in the Aral Sea Basin Region and the Kura River Basin. It will generate knowledge to support the development of a portfolio of priority climate-resilient projects that deliver national and regional benefits in response to climate change impacts. TA in individual DMCs and regional infrastructure TA will support feasibility studies for subsequent priority investment projects.
The TA is aligned with the following impact: a regional cooperation platform to connect people, policies, and projects for shared and sustainable development under CAREC Strategy 2030.
Output 1: Institutional mechanisms for regional cooperation supported.
Output 2: Climate-resilient water management procedures and tools upgraded.
Output 3: Knowledge in support of future priority climate-resilient projects generated.

The TA financing amount is $0.75 million, which will be financed on a grant basis by ADB’s Technical Assistance Special Fund (TASF): $250,000 from TASF 8 and $500,000 from TASF other sources from RCI Set-Aside.
