According to the Bank’s website, this project is designed to address gender-based violence (GBV) in Mongolia by implementing a comprehensive approach that emphasizes prevention, response, and policy enhancements within the education sector. It will equip schools, dormitories, and communities with prevention tools, engaging students, teachers, social workers, psychologists, dormitory staff, parents, and caregivers. The initiative will develop a module for child-friendly school dormitories in remote areas, where GBV prevention programs will be piloted and survivor-centered, trauma-informed GBV services will be strengthened. The project supports youth participation in technology-facilitated GBV (TFGBV) prevention activities, advocacy among policymakers on related policy enhancements. It will also implement community-led initiatives using a family-based approach, engage at-risk boys in violence prevention and promote positive masculinities, and establish a long-term rehabilitation initiative combining economic and gender empowerment for survivors of GBV.
