As stated by the ADB, the ensuing Utility-Scale Battery Energy Storage Project for the Kingdom of Cambodia aims to stabilize the transmission grid to ensure the quality of power supply and to evacuate additional renewable energy that would otherwise be curtailed. It will be funded by $40 million of concessional ordinary capital resources and $20 million of concessional financing from the Green Climate Fund through the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Green Climate Financing Hub.
The technical assistance (TA) serves to prepare the ensuing project, conduct due diligence for it, and help enhance its procurement readiness. The TA aligns with Strategy 2030 of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and its focus on climate action.
The executing agency will be Electricite Du Cambodge.
Electricite Du Cambodge is the company responsible for the generation and distribution of electricity in the Republic of Cambodia.

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF ADB
The Accountability Mechanism is an independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who believe they are likely to be, or have been, adversely affected by an Asian Development Bank-financed project. If you submit a complaint to the Accountability Mechanism, they may investigate to assess whether the Asian Development Bank is following its own policies and procedures for preventing harm to people or the environment.
