According to the Bank’s website, the proposed Digital Transformation for the BIR Project further enhances this support by leveraging technology to streamline processes, reduce errors, and enhance taxpayer compliance. The proposed project will directly finance the upgrade of six core modules of tax administration: the Online Registration and Update System, the Electronic Filing and Payment System, the Electronic Invoicing/Receipting and Sales Reporting System, the Internal Revenue Integrated System, Online Withholding System, and the Taxpayer Ledger. The feasibility study for the project is supported under an existing ADB TA, but additional support is required to support project readiness.

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF ADB
The Accountability Mechanism is an independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who believe they are likely to be, or have been, adversely affected by an Asian Development Bank-financed project. If you submit a complaint to the Accountability Mechanism, they may investigate to assess whether the Asian Development Bank is following its own policies and procedures for preventing harm to people or the environment. You can learn more about the Accountability Mechanism and how to file a complaint at: http://www.adb.org/site/accountability-mechanism/main.
