According to the Bank’s website, the technical assistance (TA) will support the Government of Nepal in enhancing the implementation of Asian Development Bank (ADB) assistance in the country, the related programming process, and the institutional capacity of the government by providing client-oriented, cross-cutting, and capacity building support. The TA will support the delivery of ADB's operational priorities 1, 2 and 6. It is included for 2024 approval and recorded in the aide-memoire of the 2024 country programming mission. The TA is aligned with ADB's country partnership strategy (CPS), 2020-2024 for Nepal, contributing to the priority area on policy reforms and capacity development of subnational governments for service delivery. It will also contribute to the forthcoming CPS, 2025-2029 for Nepal, which continues to place priority on capacity building for improved service delivery at all three-tiered federal system of governance, federal, provincial, and local.
According to the Technical Assistance Report, the Risk Categories are:
Environment: Not Applicable
Involuntary Resettlement: Not Applicable
Indigenous Peoples: Not Applicable
The TA financing amount is $1,300,000, which will be financed on a grant basis by ADB’s Technical Assistance Special Fund (TASF 7). The government will provide counterpart support in the form of counterpart staff, facilities for meetings, and other in-kind contributions.

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF ADB
The Accountability Mechanism is an independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who believe they are likely to be, or have been, adversely affected by an Asian Development Bank-financed project. If you submit a complaint to the Accountability Mechanism, they may investigate to assess whether the Asian Development Bank is following its own policies and procedures for preventing harm to people or the environment.
